Outside of her university studies, she has furthered her vocal training with Wendy Nielsen and Mabel Doak in St. Andrew’s-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, and has also studied with faculty from the School for Music Vocations in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Deirdre has been a soloist with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and most recently appeared onstage in Sister Act and The Little Mermaid. A passionate choral musician, she is an alumna of Shallaway, a current member of Lady Cove Women’s Choir, and has also proudly represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the National Youth Choir of Canada. Deirdre is presently a teacher with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District and a music instructor at MAX. She finds pure joy in sharing her love of song with Shallaway choristers each week.
